How to care for a crocheted yarn toy?
Here are a few simple tips to keep your toy beautiful and clean for years:

1. Hand wash is the best choice
   Hand washing is the best way to preserve the toy’s shape and softness.

– Fill a bowl or sink with lukewarm water (up to 30°C)
– Add a gentle baby shampoo or wool detergent
– Submerge the toy and gently press to remove dirt (avoid scrubbing and wringing)

2. Machine wash – only if necessary and gently
   If the toy is heavily soiled and hand washing is not enough, you can use a gentle washing programme:

– Place the toy in a laundry bag or pillowcase to maintain its shape
– Use cold water (30°C) and a gentle spin cycle (preferably 400–600 rpm)
– Avoid fabric softeners, as they may alter the texture

3. Drying – air dry, not in a tumble dryer
   – Do not wring – instead, gently press out excess water
   – Roll the toy in a towel and press lightly to absorb moisture
   – Let it dry flat and shape it back into its original form. Avoid hanging, as this can stretch the toy
   – Do not use a tumble dryer or radiator, as heat can damage the yarn and make it fuzzy
4. Removing smaller stains
   – Use a damp microfibre cloth and gently dab the stained areas
   – Smaller stains can also be cleaned with baby wipes
5. Storage and long-term care
   If the toy is not in regular use, store it in a dry and ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight, which can fade colours.
