How to care for a crocheted yarn toy?
Here are some simple instructions to keep your toy beautiful and clean for years to come.

1. Hand wash is the best option
   Hand washing is the best way to maintain the toy’s shape and softness.

Fill a bowl or sink with lukewarm water (up to 30°C).
Add gentle baby shampoo or wool detergent.
Submerge the toy and gently press to release dirt (avoid vigorous rubbing or wringing).

2. Machine wash – only if necessary and gently
   If the toy is heavily soiled and hand washing does not help, you can use a gentle wash cycle:

Place the toy in a laundry bag or pillowcase to maintain its shape.
Use cold water (30°C) and a gentle spin cycle (preferably 400–600 rpm).
Avoid fabric softeners, as they can alter the texture.

3. Drying – in the air, not in a dryer
   Do not wring – gently press out excess water.
   Roll the toy in a towel and gently press to absorb moisture.
   Let it dry flat and reshape it. Avoid hanging it, as it may stretch.
   Do not use a tumble dryer or radiator, as heat can damage the yarn and make it fuzzy.
4. Removing small stains
   Use a damp microfibre cloth and dab lightly on the soiled areas.
   Small stains can also be cleaned with baby wipes.
5. Storage and long-term care
   If the toy is not in constant use, store it in a dry and ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight, which may fade the colours.
